Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, announced that Tanta University Hospitals have been awarded the First-Class Star of University Hospitals Medal in recognition of their distinguished, historic, and national role in advancing medical education and healthcare. This accolade was presented during the First University Hospitals Conference, organized by the Supreme Council of University Hospitals in collaboration with Ain Shams University. The event was attended by Prof. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Presidential Advisor for Health and Prevention Affairs; Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Prof. Mohamed Diaa El-Din Zain El-Abidine, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Ahmed Taha, Head of the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation; Prof. Hisham Sateet, Head of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply, and Technology Management; Prof. Omar Sherif Omar, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals; and Prof. Ahmed Anani, Minister’s Advisor for Health Policies.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein emphasized that the medal is not merely an honor, but a heightened responsibility that motivates continued development and consistent enhancement of the quality of healthcare services. He reaffirmed the university’s deep commitment to applying the latest medical and therapeutic standards, strengthening scientific research, and advancing medical training—efforts that contribute to delivering top-tier clinical, educational, and research services in alignment with Egypt’s Sustainable Development Strategy and Vision 2030. He extended his sincere appreciation to every member of the university hospital system, particularly Prof. Ahmed Ghoneim, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, as well as the executive director and hospital directors, for this honorable achievement. He reiterated the university’s full support for achieving further success and excellence in serving patients in the Delta region.
Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, presented the First-Class Star of University Hospitals Medal to Prof. Ahmed Mohamed Ghoneim, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Tanta University and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board. Prof. Ghoneim expressed his delight at receiving this medal, describing it as a crowning achievement that recognizes the outstanding, historic, and national role of Tanta University Hospitals in the advancement of medical education and healthcare. He credited this success to the exceptional efforts of faculty members, doctors, pharmacists, engineers, nursing staff, administrative personnel, security staff, and workers across generations.
