Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, participated today in the meeting of the Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee at the House of Representatives, chaired by MP Dr. Sami Hashem and attended by committee members, to discuss the university’s general budget for the fiscal year 2025/2026.

During the meeting, Prof. Mohamed Hussein presented the university’s vision and needs within the framework of the proposed budget, highlighting the achievements made during the 2024/2025 fiscal year across all sectors. He emphasized the importance of investing in education and scientific research due to their critical role in achieving sustainable development and serving the community. The President of Tanta University also presented proposals aimed at enhancing the quality of higher education and improving the infrastructure for scientific research at the university, in alignment with the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, and Egypt's Vision 2030, which includes national goals to advance the educational system.

The meeting witnessed extensive discussions between the committee members and the university president regarding the challenges facing the higher education and scientific research sectors and ways to overcome them through appropriate support in the general budget.

Prof. Mohamed Hussein extended his thanks to Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and representatives of the Ministries of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, International Cooperation, and Social Solidarity for their fruitful cooperation and ongoing responsiveness to the university’s various academic, research, and service development needs.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. Ahmed Ghoneim, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors; Prof. Hassan El-Tatawy, Executive Director of University Hospitals; Mr. Ahmed Rashad, University Secretary-General; Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim, Assistant Secretary-General for Financial Affairs; Ms. Sahar El-Gangihi from the General Directorate of Strategic Management; and Mr. Mohamed El-Bary, Director General of Financial and Administrative Affairs at the University Hospitals.
