Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, received today at his office Major General Hussein Hanafy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Gharbia, along with a number of representatives from local youth organizations. The meeting aimed to explore and strengthen areas of mutual cooperation between the university and the directorate to support activities and initiatives targeting youth in Gharbia Governorate.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein emphasized the vital role played by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in developing young people's skills and enhancing their capabilities. He highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering collaboration with institutions and organizations that serve youth and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. He also noted that the university places special importance on supporting diverse student activities that enrich campus life and help build students’ character and awareness.
For his part, Major General Hussein Hanafy praised the leading role of Tanta University in serving the local community and commended the university president's keenness to strengthen ties with the Youth and Sports Directorate. He stressed the importance of joint efforts to create an empowering environment for young people and to enable their active participation in building the nation’s future.
The meeting also included discussions on organizing joint events targeting a wide segment of youth in Gharbia, including seminars, workshops, youth camps, and sports and cultural competitions, with the aim of discovering and nurturing talent, as well as encouraging creativity and innovation among young people.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to form joint committees to study the proposed initiatives and develop an executive action plan to activate the cooperation in the near future, ensuring meaningful outcomes for the youth of Gharbia Governorate.
