To Strengthen International Partnerships and Explore Avenues of Cooperation: Prof. Mohamed Hussein Receives High-Level Delegation from French Universities

Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, received today, Wednesday, a high-level delegation from French universities, in a significant step toward enhancing academic and research partnerships on an international scale.

The French delegation included Prof. Olivier Comes, President of ESTIAM University, Prof. Guillaume Finck, Vice President of Collège de Paris, and Mr. Ahmed El-Khouly, Head of International Partnerships at the French university. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Tanta University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Emad Atman, former Vice President for the same sector; Prof. Mamdouh El-Masry, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Yasser El-Garaf, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce; Prof. Mohamed El-Nemr, Executive Director of the Main Center for Digital and Knowledge Services; Prof. Shahira Sharaf El-Din, Director of the International Students Affairs Unit; Prof. Nada El-Shennawy, Director of the University Portal Unit; Prof.Yasmin El-Santiel, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Commerce; and Prof. Ahmed Abou El-Saadat, Director of the University Media Center and Career Development Centers.

During the meeting, Prof. Mohamed Hussein delivered a presentation on Tanta University's capabilities, highlighting its rich history and evolution into a leading educational and research institution. The presentation covered the university’s academic breadth—comprising 16 faculties—its advanced infrastructure including modern campuses and state-of-the-art labs, progress in scientific research and innovation, international ranking achievements, digital transformation, and a wide range of student activities and community service initiatives, all of which reflect the university’s pivotal role in student development and community engagement.

Prof. Mohamed Hussein emphasized the strategic importance of such partnerships in reinforcing Tanta University’s status as a regional and international hub for education and research. He noted that cooperation with ESTIAM and Collège de Paris opens new horizons for students and faculty members to benefit from French expertise in various fields. This initiative aligns with Tanta University’s ongoing efforts to expand its global network with prestigious academic institutions worldwide, aiming to advance education, research, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Prof. Olivier Comes expressed his deep appreciation for the warm reception and reiterated ESTIAM’s keen interest in building a strong and lasting relationship with Tanta University. He highlighted plans for a strategic partnership encompassing academic exchange programs, student training, teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, and collaboration in engineering, artificial intelligence, aircraft maintenance, and cybersecurity.

Following the meeting, the French delegation toured the Faculties of Engineering and Arts, accompanied by Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Prof. Mamdouh El-Masry, and Prof. Ahmed Nasr. During the visit, they explored key facilities including the Smart Modeling (Robotics) Unit and the Concrete Laboratory at the Faculty of Engineering, as well as the Arabic Language Teaching Center for Non-Native Speakers and the Student Disability Services Center at the Faculty of Arts.
