Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, announced that the Supreme Council of University Hospitals has granted approval for the trial operation of Tanta University’s Dental Hospital, which will continue through the end of 2025.

Prof. Hussein explained that this significant step is the culmination of extensive efforts undertaken by the university and the Faculty of Dentistry to equip the hospital with the latest capabilities, in order to provide comprehensive and high-quality healthcare services to citizens. It also aims to offer an advanced training and research environment for dentistry students. He noted that the hospital represents a qualitative addition to the healthcare system in Gharbia Governorate and the Delta region, as it will help alleviate pressure on other hospitals while offering specialized care across all branches of dentistry—from diagnosis and treatment to complex surgical procedures.

The University President expressed his appreciation for all those who contributed to the success of this project, including the university and faculty teams. He expressed hope that the hospital would serve as a model for specialized healthcare delivery and would play an active role in scientific research and the advancement of dental medicine in Egypt.

Prof. Faten Abu Taleb, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, added that the hospital will begin gradually offering services to patients during the trial phase, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety for both patients and medical staff. She explained that the hospital includes 39 dental treatment chairs, in addition to radiology and prosthodontics laboratories.
