Ranked 1201–1400 Globally out of 8,467 Assessed Institutions
In a significant achievement affirming its sustained academic and research excellence, Tanta University has proudly retained its position in the QS World University Rankings 2026 for the fifth consecutive year. The university was ranked within the 1201–1400 band globally out of 1,501 ranked universities, selected from a total of 8,467 evaluated institutions worldwide.
At the national level, Tanta University secured 7th place among Egyptian universities featured in the 2026 edition. This accomplishment comes amid increased competition, with 20 Egyptian universities entering the ranking this year—five more than last year—highlighting the growing prominence and competitiveness of Egypt’s higher education sector.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President praised the achievement, stating:
“Maintaining our global standing in one of the world’s most prestigious rankings, despite the rise in the number of ranked Egyptian universities, demonstrates our steadfast commitment to quality education, impactful research, and expanding our academic influence.”
He emphasized that this success reflects the university’s strategic vision aligned with Egypt’s Sustainable Development Strategy – Vision 2030, as well as the dedication and collective efforts of the entire university community—including faculty, researchers, staff, and students.
Prof. Hussein extended his heartfelt congratulations to all university members, underscoring that Tanta University’s consistent performance is a result of ongoing dedication to academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement, which continues to elevate its regional and international reputation.
