Tanta University’s men’s handball team secured first place in the Egyptian Universities League – El-Rifai Martyr Tournament, in its 53rd edition for the academic year 2025/2026 (Level B).
The team achieved this remarkable accomplishment after defeating the Universities of Menoufia, the Egyptian-Chinese University, and Beni Suef University in the first round, and securing additional victories against Delta University for Science and Technology, Beni Suef University, and Assiut University in the second round.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, congratulated the champions of the university’s handball team for this well-deserved win, which came after an outstanding journey marked by victories over strong and reputable universities in both rounds. He emphasized that this achievement reflects the importance of student activities—particularly sports—as an integral part of the educational process.
He added that Tanta University strongly believes in the vital and fundamental role of sports in shaping individuals, building character, and instilling values of discipline, teamwork, and fair competition. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to providing all forms of support and care for students—not only academically, but also across all extracurricular activities—to ensure continued success, championships, and leadership at local and international levels, and to keep the name of Tanta University shining.
