Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, announced that students from the Faculty of Dentistry at Tanta University secured five top positions during their participation in the World Dental Conference organized by Misr University for Science and Technology, with broad participation from various Egyptian universities and nearly 7,000 dental students in attendance.
Under the patronage of the University President, the students demonstrated outstanding excellence, earning four top positions in individual competitions in addition to a top ranking in the group competition. Their achievements included:
First place in the Periodontology course competition
Second place in the Biomaterials course
Second place in Oral Biology
First place in the Clinical Cases Poster competition
They also won third place in the group competition, and student Ziad Mohamed received an honorary shield as a member of the conference board.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein affirmed that this accomplishment reflects the academic competence and exceptional skills of Tanta University students and their ability to excel in various competitive arenas. He expressed his pride in the winning students from the Faculty of Dentistry, emphasizing that earning five top positions at the conference demonstrates the quality of the educational and research system adopted by both the faculty and the university. He added that this success confirms that the university is moving in the right direction to prepare a generation of talented, innovative, and competitive professionals at local and international levels, reiterating the university’s commitment to enhancing academic performance and preparing students for the job market through curriculum development and advanced training environments.
For her part, Prof. Faten Abu Taleb, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Tanta University, extended her congratulations to the winning students and supervising faculty members. She noted that the achievement is the result of collective effort, with students demonstrating exceptional scientific competence and knowledge. She also praised the dedication of faculty members who worked tirelessly to prepare and train the team, confirming that the faculty will continue to offer full support to its students and encourage their active participation in scientific activities and conferences to represent the university and faculty.
The students’ participation was supervised and attended by Prof. Shereen Abdel-Mawla, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs. The results included:

Fatma Reda and Shahed El-Sennousy – First place in Clinical Cases Poster
Yasmine Ahmed – Second place in Biomaterials
Raghad Alaa – Second place in Oral Biology
The group competition team included:
Ahmed Abdelrahman, Sara Ahmed, Esraa Hamdy, Mirna Ashraf, and Ahmed El-Abyad, under the supervision of Prof. Basant Hamdy, Assistant Lecturer at the faculty.
