Tanta University’s Wushu team achieved a new sporting milestone in the Egyptian Universities League, the 53rd El-Refa’i Tournament for the 2025/2026 academic year. The women’s team demonstrated remarkable dominance, securing first place overall among universities. The tournament featured outstanding performances from the university’s athletes, resulting in two gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal. The men’s team also delivered an impressive performance, finishing fourth overall with two gold medals and one bronze medal.

Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, extended his sincere congratulations and appreciation to the men’s and women’s Wushu teams for their historic achievement in the Egyptian Universities League. He expressed his pride in this success, which adds a new chapter to Tanta University’s record of excellence in university sports. He emphasized that this accomplishment is the result of hard work, continuous training, and the strong competitive spirit shown by the athletes. He also praised the honorable performance of both teams, who succeeded in raising the university’s name high in the tournament and proved their ability to excel and compete strongly at the university-level championships.

The results of the women’s team were as follows:
– Habiba Amgad Mohamed (Faculty of Arts): Gold medal, 56kg
– Ruwaida Marwan Khaled (Faculty of Sports Sciences): Gold medal, 80kg
– Eman Saad Abdel-Yazid (Faculty of Sports Sciences): Bronze medal, 60kg
– Eman Mohamed Mohamed Amer (Faculty of Sports Sciences): Silver medal, 65kg

As for the men’s team, Tanta University ranked fourth overall:
– Hassan Yousry Hassan (Faculty of Sports Sciences): Gold medal, 60kg
– Seif El-Din Mohsen (Faculty of Sports Sciences): Gold medal, 75kg
– Ahmed Alaa Mohamed (Faculty of Dentistry): Bronze medal, 100kg

The participation took place under the supervision of Prof. Magdy Wakouk, General Coordinator of Student Activities, and Mohamed El-Qasir, Director-General of the General Administration of Student Welfare. The team was also supervised by Mohamed El-Sheikh, Director of the Sports Activity Department, Hani Asr, External Activity Officer, and the technical and administrative staff of the Wushu team:
