Teams from Kafrelsheikh University and Tanta University win the top three positions
Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, attended the closing ceremony of the 2025 Hackathon for the Delta Region Universities Alliance, held under the slogan “AI Vibes” and within the framework of the Presidential Initiative “Alliance and Development.”
The event was organized by the Faculty of Computers and Information in collaboration with Appout and the Information Technology Institute (ITI) of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The ceremony was attended by Prof. El-Sayed El-Agooz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Nancy El-Hefnawy, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, Prof. Nasr El-Din Abdelaziz, Director of ITI Tanta, and Eng. Amir Abou Eissa, CEO of Appout.
The competitions resulted in the SOCOUT AI team from the Faculty of Engineering at Kafrelsheikh University winning first place, the Hodoa AI team from the Faculty of Commerce at Tanta University winning second place, and the DANA team from the Faculty of Computers and Information at Tanta University securing third place.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein extended his sincere congratulations to all the teams participating in the hackathon, who demonstrated strong competitiveness and outstanding creativity in the field of artificial intelligence. He congratulated the winning teams and expressed his great pride in the remarkable success of Hackathon 2025, which showcased promising student innovations and the ability to employ AI solutions to address development and community challenges.
He also thanked ITI and Appout for their fruitful collaboration, which presented a real model of effective partnership between academia, industry, and major technology institutions. He affirmed the university’s continued full support for such specialized initiatives that enhance students’ skills and prepare them to become future leaders in technology.
For his part, Prof. El-Sayed El-Agooz expressed his pride in the outstanding performance demonstrated by students of the Delta Region Universities Alliance during Hackathon 2025 under the theme “AI Vibes.” He added that the hackathon served as a successful and pioneering model for integrating theoretical education with future practical skills, aligned with the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research. He congratulated the winning teams and praised the efforts of the Faculty of Computers and Information and all organizers, affirming the university’s commitment to promoting student activities that support digital transformation and prepare students for future leadership in technology.
Prof. Nancy El-Hefnawy stated that the competition among participating teams was exceptionally strong, showcasing high levels of innovation and reflecting the outstanding capabilities of university students. She explained that selecting the winning teams was based on rigorous criteria.
The winning projects included:
First Place – SOCOUT AI Team:
A platform designed to help talented athletes develop and showcase their skills. The app features a digital sports community and performance-based challenges, where players upload videos of specific skills and AI technology analyzes the performance with high accuracy.
Second Place – Hodoa AI Team:
A specialized digital platform for mental health, offering users accessible psychological support, reliable information, educational content, and online therapy sessions.
Third Place – DANA Team:
An AI-powered tool that supports parents in monitoring their children’s health. The application provides an integrated solution for tracking child development, offering home-care guidance, booking medical appointments, and enabling online payments
