To Enhance Medical Cooperation and Support National Projects: Tanta University President Heads a Medical Delegation on a Coordinative Visit to Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357

Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, headed a medical delegation on a coordinative visit to the Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357. The delegation was received by Prof. Sherif Abou El-Naga, Chief Executive Officer of Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357; Eng. Lotfy El-Badrawi, Chairman of the Board of the Friends of the National Initiative Against Cancer Association; Mr. Ahmed El-Sayed El-Fandy, Executive Director of the hospital; Prof. Alaa El-Haddad, Head of the Pediatric Oncology Department and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit; and Prof. Moataz El-Zemity, Medical Director and Deputy Director General of the hospital.
The visit aimed to enhance prospects for joint medical cooperation and to develop the therapeutic services provided by university hospitals.

The Tanta University delegation included Prof. Mohamed Hantira, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of University Hospitals; Prof. Hassan El-Tatawy, Executive Director of University Hospitals; Prof. Abdel Rahman El-Meshd, Director of the University Children’s Cancer Hospital; and Prof. Eslam El-Hawary, Professor of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplantation.

The visit featured an extensive inspection tour of the hospital’s various departments, during which the delegation reviewed the latest medical equipment and advanced technologies used in diagnosis and treatment. Both sides also held a meeting to discuss mechanisms for exchanging expertise, reviewing internationally adopted treatment protocols, and exploring avenues for technical and administrative integration between Tanta University Hospitals and Hospital 57357 in support of the national healthcare system.

Prof. Mohamed Hussein affirmed that the visit aligns with the principles of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which emphasizes integration and effective partnership. He noted that it also falls within the framework of the University’s executive plan to develop the medical system and provide treatment services that meet international standards for patients in the Delta region. He added that moving toward such integration also supports major national projects that receive significant state attention, describing Hospital 57357 as a medical landmark that is a source of national pride. He expressed his aspiration to unify treatment protocols and exchange medical and nursing expertise to deliver outstanding, high-quality healthcare services to citizens and Egyptian families.

For his part, Prof. Mohamed Hantira, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Tanta University and Chairman of the Board of University Hospitals, stated that cooperation with a prestigious institution such as Hospital 57357 represents a fundamental step toward enhancing the skills of medical and nursing staff through advanced training programs. He emphasized that the goal is to create an integrated educational and therapeutic environment that combines scientific research with clinical practice, ensuring the highest possible standard of care for cancer patients in accordance with the latest globally adopted systems.
