Tanta University and the Public Prosecution Sign a Cooperation Protocol in Scientific, Research, and Community Service Fields

Today, the Tanta Court of Appeal witnessed the signing ceremony of a joint cooperation protocol between Tanta University and the Public Prosecution. The protocol was signed on behalf of Tanta University by Prof. Mohamed Hussein Mahmoud, President of the University, and on behalf of the Public Prosecution by Counselor Mohamed Shawky, Public Prosecutor.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, Governor of Gharbia; Judge Magdy Gabrán, President of the Tanta Court of Appeal and Member of the Supreme Judicial Council; Judge Mohamed Abdel Salam, First Senior Advocate General of the Tanta Appeal Prosecution; Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of Tanta University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Judge Ahmed Aouny, President of the Tanta Judges’ Club; Judge Ahmed Abdel Moaz, Head of the Technical and Follow-up Office at the Tanta Court of Appeal; and Judges Mohamed Helmy, Mohamed Abdel Karim, Alaa Hamad, Saeed El-Samadouni, and Samy George, members of the Technical and Follow-up Office.

This protocol is based on the shared vision of both parties regarding the importance of establishing effective and sustainable frameworks for cooperation, and on their belief in the pioneering role of Tanta University as a beacon of knowledge and a long-established academic institution that contributes to human development and provides the highest quality of education for students and researchers, in line with the requirements of fourth-generation universities.

The protocol aims to enhance cooperation across all scientific, research, training, and community service fields by building bridges of scientific communication among experts and exchanging studies and expertise in areas of mutual interest. Through this collaboration, both parties seek to support researchers by providing references and scientific indexes, mobilizing all available resources to overcome challenges they may face, and leveraging the human resources of both sides in the joint organization of conferences, seminars, workshops, and professional training courses that contribute to strengthening legal culture within society.

In the area of scientific research, the two parties agreed to cooperate in publishing research papers, studies, and reports in their respective academic journals and periodicals, as well as exchanging expertise between academic and judicial professionals in social and criminal matters. Within this framework, Tanta University will place all its academic capabilities and its expertise—particularly in quality assurance and accreditation units—at the disposal of the Public Prosecution’s Criminal Research and Training Institute. This will support the development of curricula, educational tools, and scientific references necessary for awarding specialized academic degrees, including diplomas and professional and academic master’s degrees.

The agreement also includes provisions for supplying the legal libraries of both parties with key books, encyclopedias, and research papers, in addition to enabling access to electronic platforms and available scientific and research publications. This protocol represents an important step for Tanta University in strengthening its partnerships with long-established state institutions, serving the public interest, and enhancing the scientific and practical capacities of national cadres within a framework of integrated institutional cooperation.
