Tanta University Organizes a Comprehensive Medical Convoy in Samannoud District to Enhance Decent Life Initiative

1140 cases have been examined and 54 of them were transferred to University Hospitals, in addition to conducting instant exams for illiterate persons.

  A medical convoy from Tanta University was launched today to Al Rahebin village located in Samannoud district in Gharbia governorate to provide health care and disseminate medicaments for free. It was organized in cooperation with the Supreme Medical Committee of the Cabinet as a part of the presidential initiative Decent Life and in the context of Tanta University’s celebration of its golden jubilee.

  For his part, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, affirmed keenness of the university on organizing comprehensive medical convoys to the neediest villages in Gharbia governorate to offer health care services to the patients and to contribute to developing the surrounding community under the slogan, “A convoy every day”. He added that such convoys are held to enhance sustainable development plans and Egypt’s vision 2030.

  Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of Tanta University for Community Service and Environmental Development, inspected the medical clinics with representatives of the initiative, "Decent Life". He affirmed keenness of the university on intensifying comprehensive medical convoys to provide different services to the neediest families and to achieve maximum benefit from the competencies of the university faculties in various disciplines.

  Prof. Mahmoud Al Shebiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, pointed out that the convoy witnessed examining 1140 patients with participation of 12 clinics in different specialties including ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology, vascular surgery, pediatrics, neurology, chest, orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, general surgery, ENT, and urology, indicating that 54 cases were transferred to University Hospitals to complete treatment.

  It is worth noting that representatives of Faculty of Pharmacy disseminated medicaments for free while representatives of Faculty of Nursing gave awareness symposiums on first aids and breast cancer self-examination. The convoy also included conducting instant exams for 50 illiterate persons. The convoy was held with participation of Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development; Mr. Mohammed Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
