Global Achievement by Tanta University Student, Amira Mohamed, Ranked Fourth Worldwide in Junior Weightlifting

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, extended his sincere congratulations to student Amira Mohamed, a second-year student at the Faculty of Physical Education, on achieving fourth place in the World Junior Weightlifting Championship, hosted in Ismailia, Arab Republic of Egypt.

    The competition witnessed intense rivalry among an elite group of world champions. Amira Mohamed successfully represented both the Egyptian flag and Tanta University in this prestigious international event, affirming that academic excellence at the Faculty of Physical Education goes hand in hand with professional athletic performance and reaching global podiums.

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein expressed his pride in the achievement of the champion Amira Mohamed, emphasizing that her attainment of fourth place globally is not merely a sporting accomplishment, but a message underscoring the ability of university students to compete in major international arenas. He further stressed Tanta University’s commitment to mobilizing all resources and removing obstacles for students, enabling them to combine academic excellence with sporting distinction, in line with the Egyptian state’s vision of human development and support for national athletes who elevate Egypt’s name in international sports.

    For his part, Prof. El-Sayed El-Aguoz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, praised the distinguished performance of the student, affirming that the university’s education and student affairs sector places sports activities at the forefront of its priorities. He noted that, through the General Administration for Student Welfare, the university continuously works to discover and develop talents, adding that this achievement at the World Junior Championship in Ismailia is the result of hard work and dedication. He also highlighted that investing in youth capabilities is the most effective path to raising the nation’s flag in all international forums.
