Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, inaugurated the 15th Annual Conference of the Department of Clinical Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, which was held under the title «Integration of Biotechnology and Informatics in the Future of Laboratory Testing», in the presence of Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Prof. Mohamed Hantira, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, and Prof. Sahar Hazza, Head of the Department of Clinical Pathology and Chairman of the Conference, along with a distinguished elite of professors, experts, and researchers from various Egyptian universities, to review the latest scientific and technological developments in the field of medical analysis.

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein stressed, during his speech, that the conference clearly reflects the nature of the stage that the world is witnessing, where knowledge, technology and innovation have become the main driver for developing various sectors, most notably the healthcare sector, extending his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for the unprecedented attention he pays to developing the higher education and scientific research system, enhancing digital transformation, supporting the localization of technology, and building the Egyptian person as the basic pillar of the new republic.

    The University President also thanked the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, led by Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, for its ongoing efforts to support Egyptian universities, enhance their role in knowledge production, and link scientific research with societal needs and sustainable development requirements.

    The university president added that the scientific development witnessed by the world confirms that the future of progress is no longer based on individual specializations, but rather on integration between different sciences, pointing out that this trend is embodied by the conference through combining biotechnology, information technologies, artificial intelligence and digital transformation, which opens new horizons for scientific research and practical applications, and contributes to improving the quality of health services and enhancing the efficiency of the medical system.

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein stressed Tanta University's commitment, based on its strategy, to providing a scientific environment that stimulates creativity and innovation, encourages multidisciplinary scientific research, and establishes effective partnerships with academic and research institutions inside and outside Egypt, which contributes to preparing cadres capable of keeping pace with global developments and participating effectively in building an economy based on knowledge and innovation.

    The University President expressed his happiness with the participation of a distinguished elite of professors, experts and researchers from various Egyptian universities, explaining that this distinguished scientific presence enriches discussions, enhances the exchange of experiences, and opens the way for presenting new visions that contribute to the development of scientific research and the advancement of professional practices, in line with the rapid developments witnessed by the world.

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Faculty of Medicine, Tanta University, and the Department of Clinical Pathology, in appreciation of the great efforts made in preparing and organizing the conference, hoping that its sessions and scientific discussions will contribute to coming up with applicable recommendations that support the development of the laboratory testing system and diagnostic services.

    For his part, Prof. Hatem Amin stressed that the holding of the 15th Annual Conference of the Department of Clinical Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine carries a very important significance, and confirms the pivotal role played by this distinguished department in the educational, research and medical journey of the university, as it is «the mind of the hospital» and the indispensable diagnostic reference for various medical specialties.

    The Vice President of the University appreciated the great efforts made by the Department of Clinical Pathology at Tanta University, whether in terms of developing the educational process for students, supporting the serious research movement, or serving the community by diagnosing diseases and following up on the response to treatment, stressing that the advanced diagnostic services provided by the department contribute directly to raising the level of medical and therapeutic services provided to patients.

    Prof. Hatem Amin added that the conference represents a well-established scientific platform that brings together a distinguished elite of professors and researchers from various Egyptian universities, stressing that the contemporary research and issues discussed by the conference in the field of medical analyses would enrich the scientific movement and contribute to keeping pace with the rapid developments in this vital specialty.

    At the conclusion of the events, Prof. Muhammad Hantira stressed that holding the conference for the fifteenth year reflects the sustainability of the scientific and research activity of the Department of Clinical Pathology, and the commitment of the College of Medicine and university hospitals to keeping pace with the latest global developments in the fields of laboratory diagnosis, precision medicine, biotechnology and medical informatics.

    The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine added that medical laboratories have become one of the most important pillars on which the modern healthcare system is based, as they provide accurate data that supports early diagnosis, helps medical teams select appropriate treatment plans, and enables the monitoring of patients’ responses to treatment. He stressed that employing artificial intelligence, data analysis, and digital systems within laboratories represents an essential step toward providing diagnostic services that are more accurate, faster, and more efficient.

    Prof. Mohamed Hantira pointed out that the Faculty of Medicine and University Hospitals at Tanta University pay great attention to developing the technological infrastructure of laboratories, raising the efficiency of medical and technical personnel, and supporting applied research that links scientific developments with patients' needs.
