The Popular and Military Defense Forces organized an awareness lecture for the Military Education Course for Males and National Education for Females at Tanta University, in the presence of Major General Staff Officer Hesham Hosni Hassan, Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President of the University for postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. El-Sayed El-Ajouz, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; and Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Acting Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs ;Brigadier General Mohamed Yousry Douir, Assistant Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces for Military Education, Brigadier General Wael Mohamed Fathi, Military Advisor to Gharbia Governorate, Colonel Mustafa Abu Karam, Director of the Military Education Department at Tanta University, deans and deputies of colleges, and a number of various university students.
At the beginning of his speech, Prof. Mohamed Hussein extended his deepest thanks, appreciation and gratitude to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, appreciating His Excellency's sincere efforts in leading the comprehensive national development process, building a strong state capable of facing challenges, protecting the nation's capabilities and preserving its national security, in parallel with investing in the Egyptian people as the basic pillar for creating the future, pointing out that the Egyptian state has chosen, under the leadership of His Excellency President El-Sisi, to continue on the path of construction and development despite the challenges and rapid changes the world is witnessing, placing human development, awareness, and capabilities at the forefront of its priorities, believing that strong nations are not built solely by projects and achievements, but are built above all by the minds, awareness, and belonging of their people.
The university president added that today's meeting, with the participation of a group of Egyptian universities, reflects the spirit of academic and national cooperation that we are proud of, and confirms the depth of the strategic partnership between higher education institutions and the Egyptian Armed Forces, represented by the Popular Defense Forces and the Military, explaining that this partnership is based on a clear goal, building an aware and enlightened Egyptian person, capable of understanding the challenges of his time, distinguishing between truth and misinformation, and participating effectively in protecting his country and shaping his future.
He extended sincere appreciation to the valiant Egyptian Armed Forces, whose great role is not limited to protecting the nation's borders and preserving its capabilities, but also extends to contributing to building awareness and consolidating the values of belonging, loyalty and responsibility among our youth, explaining that the university builds the mind with science and knowledge, and the military institution consolidates the values of belonging, discipline and sacrifice, and when the two messages are integrated, we create a generation that is more aware and more capable of bearing the responsibility of the nation.
The university president continued that Tanta University is proud of its close and continuous cooperation with the Popular Defense and Military Forces, believing that protecting the homeland begins with the awareness of its people, and that national security is not protected by force alone, but is also protected by a conscious mind, an enlightened young man, and a cohesive society that understands the nature of the challenges surrounding it, stressing that the challenges facing countries today are no longer limited to borders or traditional threats, but rather target minds and awareness through systematic rumors, misleading information, distorting facts, spreading frustration, and attempts to undermine confidence in state institutions, he pointed to the importance of the pioneering role of Egyptian universities in the battle for awareness; by building a critical scientific mind, capable of verifying information, understanding variables, and confronting rumors with facts, and destructive ideas with science and knowledge.
Major General Dr. Hafez Hassan gave a valuable lecture entitled "Awareness is a Nation's Issue", during which he discussed the fundamental reasons that make Egypt a permanent target for targeting plans, warning of the extreme danger of fourth-generation wars and the modern tools used to destroy regimes and countries from within, and presented the foundations of the concept of national security at the local and Arab levels, explaining the fundamental difference between knowledge and awareness, as he stressed that true awareness does not stop at merely possessing information; rather, it extends to be an integrated system based on understanding, the ability to analyze, and bearing responsibility in decision-making. He concluded the lecture with a review of the state's development visions represented by Egypt's Vision 2030 and Egypt's Plan 2050, as fundamental pillars for building the future and securing future generations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a dialogue session was opened between the university students, the commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, and the university president, who answered the students' various inquiries and questions in detail. This added a rich character to the discussions and contributed to strengthening direct communication and consolidating national concepts among the youth. The event ended with an exchange of commemorative shields between the commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces and the university president in appreciation of the fruitful and mutual cooperation.
