Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, received Dr. Eng. Sherine Abdel Qader Moharam, Acting President of the Electronics Research Institute and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Science and Technology City for Electronics Research and Industry, to discuss enhancing joint cooperation in the fields of scientific research, innovation, technology transfer, and linking research outputs to industry needs. 

    The meeting discussed opportunities for implementing joint research and applied projects, benefiting from the laboratory capabilities and scientific expertise of both sides, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, developing prototypes and transforming research ideas into applications and products that can be manufactured and invested in, in addition to cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, electronics, communications, smart systems, and new and renewable energy. 

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein stressed that Tanta University adopts a strategy aimed at expanding its partnerships with distinguished national research institutions, and directing scientific research towards applied solutions that achieve economic and societal value, explaining that cooperation with the Electronics Research Institute represents an important opportunity to enhance the innovation and technology transfer system, link researchers and students with the industry, and support emerging companies and applicable innovations. 

    For her part, Dr. Sherine Mohamed Abdel Qader Moharam stressed that integration between universities and research institutes represents a fundamental pillar for transforming knowledge into technological applications with economic returns, pointing out the keenness of the institute and the City of Science and Technology for Electronics Research and Industry to cooperate with Tanta University in the fields of research, development, training, embracing innovative projects, and supporting researchers and innovators to reach products that can be developed and invested in. 

    The two sides agreed to form joint working groups to identify priority areas, develop an executive plan for cooperation, and organize mutual scientific and technical visits, in preparation for developing a sustainable institutional framework for the partnership between Tanta University and the Electronics Research Institute.
