Discussions on research cooperation, international supervision, and laboratory capacity development
Prof. Ahmed Nasr: We translate the university president's directives into international partnerships that have a direct impact on education and scientific research
Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, Prof. Ahmed Mohamed Nasr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, made an official visit to Silesian University of Technology in the Republic of Poland, as part of the university's strategy to promote the internationalization of education and scientific research and expand partnerships with distinguished international universities.
The Dean of the College inspected a number of advanced laboratories and research workshops, and was briefed on the latest systems and equipment used in various engineering specializations, to discuss benefiting from them in developing the research and laboratory structure of the College of Engineering and raising the efficiency of its academic and research outputs.
The two sides also held discussions that dealt with expanding research cooperation and benefiting from the experiences of international professors in judging scientific journals issued by the college, in addition to the participation of professors from the University of Silesian in joint supervision of scientific theses in accordance with the organization's regulations.
Prof. Ahmed Mohamed Nasr stressed that the visit comes in implementation of the directives of Professor Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, to expand the building of effective international partnerships and transform them into executive paths that contribute to developing education and scientific research and enhancing the university's international competitiveness.
He added that this approach is consistent with the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in supporting the internationalization of higher education and international academic and research partnerships, noting that the college aims to benefit from these partnerships in transferring technology, developing laboratory capabilities, and enhancing supervision and joint scientific research. He thanked Dr. Saad Obeid, Assistant Professor in the Department of Production Engineering, the visit coordinator, for his efforts in organizing and arranging all the details of the visit and communicating effectively with the Polish side.
On the Polish side, Prof. Dr. Wojciech Borek, Dr. Wojciech Pakieła, and Dr. Klaudiusz Gołombek participated in the discussions.
On the sidelines of the visit, the Dean of the College met with doctoral students sent from the Department of Production Engineering and Mechanical Design, Engineer Muhammad Ahmed Al-Muslimi and Engineer Muhammad Mustafa Al-Meligy, to check on the progress of their research career, stressing the university and college's support for their students studying abroad and maximizing the benefit from their scientific expertise.
