Faculty of Education Students Participate in the Campaign “Illiteracy-Free Gharbia” 13 Students Take Part in Literacy of 41 Learners

 

   Prof. 'Emad 'Etman, Tanta University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Al-Refa'i Mubarak, University Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, honored today 13 students from Faculty of Education who took part in the literacy of 41 learners in Gharbia governorate under auspices of Prof. Magdi Sab', Tanta University President, in the framework of mutual cooperation between Tanta University and the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education in Gharbia.

   Prof. 'Emad 'Etman has stated that Tanta University launched the initiative “Illiteracy-Free Gharbia” with participation of seven faculties out of belief of Tanta University in the social responsibility towards participation in the national project of literacy. He has highlighted that educating our families is a protection for us and that University students are main partners in that campaign as they are the foundation of our nation and its future.

    Prof. Al-Refa'i Mubarak has declared that Tanta University student are able to achieve literacy and to eliminate illiteracy completely. He appreciated the mutual and effective cooperation between both sectors of Student Affairs and Community Service.

   Prof. Abdel Hamid Al-Shennawy, Dean of Faculty of Education, has stated that the University plays great role in community service. He talked to students about the significance of participation in literacy program and helping governmental bodies as each student can teach illiterate people in his village or town.   

    In addition, Mr. Mohammed Abo Al-Nabayel, General Manager of the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education in Gharbia, thanked University President, Prof. Magdi Sab', and vice presidents for this campaign. He called upon students to take part in it. 

    At the end of the symposium, students who participated in literacy of forty one learners were honored. In addition, they were given certificates of appreciation and a sum of 400 EGP. 200 EGP were presented from Prof. 'Emad 'Etman and 200 EGP from the General Authority for Literacy. These students are Miram Abdel Aal, Aya Fouad, Ne'ma Badr, Yassmin Gomaa, Samar Sha'ban, Gehad Nabil, Hesham Abo Okeila, Nariman Abdel Latif, Norhan Abdel Latif, Shimaa Abdel Galil, Fatema Abdel Malek, Shorouk Abo Al-Rokab and Sabrin Amin.

  Furthermore, Dr. Abdel Rahman Amin Mohammed, Vice Manager of Adult Education Center at the University was honored as well as Dr. Abdel Fattah Sa'd Abdel Rahman, Coordinator of Literacy Program at Faculty of Education; Mohammed Ibrahim Abo Al-Nabayel, Manager of the Branch of General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education in Gharbia; Dr. Eman Raafat Badr, Protocol Coordinator at the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education; Ahmed Abdel Ghany Doma, Public Relations Official at the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education; and Nahed Mohammed Al-Melegy, Official of the Authority Branch at Faculty of Education. 

   The honoring was attended by Prof. Hamdy Sha'ban, Acting Dean of Faculty of Specific Education; Prof. Mustafa Sadek, Vice Dean of Faculty of Education for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Yasser Bayoumi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; academic staff, assistant staff, heads of departments and a huge group of students.
