During his Tour at the Medical Campus, Tanta University President, “We Plan for Applying Standards of Architectural Sustainability inside Campus”

Using Solar and Renewable Energy on Shades and on Roofs

   Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, made an inspection visit today at the Medical Campus where he was accompanied by Prof. Kamal Okasha, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Accountant\ Ahmed Rashad, university Secretary-General.

    During his tour, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki gave instructions as for increasing green and shaded areas in the light of the university’s participation in the presidential initiative “100 Million Tress” to provide areas for waiting and for practicing student activities. He highlighted the significance of using solar and renewable energy on shades and on roofs of university buildings to depend on clean energy and to decrease environmental contamination besides the role of greenery in keeping the environment.

   Moreover, University President indicated that 2000 trees are being planted now in campus in the light of the presidential initiative “100 Million Tress” in implementation of the university’s strategy and Egypt’s sustainable development vision 2030. He added that architectural aspects have a great influence on interaction between students and environment of education in addition to enhancement of students’ belonging to their university.
