Tanta University Organizes a Comprehensive Convoy in Kafr El-Zayyat Province Enhancing “Decent Life”

 Offering medical care to 1554 patients… early detection of breast cancer

 Participation in “100 Million Trees” initiative and immediate literacy exams

    Tanta University organized a comprehensive medical convoy in Kafr Deyama village located in Kafr El-Zayyat province in Gharbia governorate under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President, and Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with the Supreme Medical Aid Committee of the Cabinet.

    Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President, asserted that the medical convoys sent by the university aim to enhance the presidential initiative “Decent Life”, to offer quality health care services to patients in the neediest villages, to give medications for free, and to present outreach and educational services as well as organizing workshops that achieve economic empowerment in order to support Egypt’s sustainable development vision under the umbrella of the role played by the university in community service.

    Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Salim indicated that Community Service and Environmental Development Sector seeks to offer health care and outreach services in the neediest villages to raise the standard of living there.

   University Vice President added that Faculty of Pharmacy participated in the convoy and offered medicaments for free to the examined cases. Faculty of Nursing delivered lectures on nutrition, first aid, and self-examination for breast cancer. In addition, Faculty of Agriculture gave 50 olive trees to be planted along the road in the context of the presidential initiative “100 Million Trees” in cooperation with the Governorate, the City Council and the Local Government Unit.

   Furthermore, Prof. Mohammad Al-Shebiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, pointed out that 1554 patients were examined at the convoy in 12 different medical specialties.

    It is worth noting that 44 citizens had literacy exams at the convoy that was held with participation of Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Acting Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; Mr. Mohammad Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
