Tanta University Offers Medical Care Services to 995 Patients at the Comprehensive Convoy in Qutor

Tanta University organized a comprehensive medical convoy in Shobra Nabas village located in Qutor province in Gharbia governorate under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President, and Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with the Supreme Medical Aid Committee of the Cabinet as part of the presidential initiative Decent Life.

   Prof. Mahmoud Zaki affirmed that Tanta University is a main partner in development of Gharbia governorate; thereupon, the university is keen on sending comprehensive medical convoys to the neediest villages to raise citizens’ standard of living in Gharbia and to help them live a decent life. He pointed out that this convoy is the 7th one to be organized by the university in Qutor in 2022 where 7235 patients were examined and 396 cases were transferred to University Hospitals to continue their treatment in addition to holding literacy exams to 163 citizens.

     Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Salim indicated that the university plays a pivotal role in determining the social needs through Community Service and Environmental Development Sector. He added that Faculty of Pharmacy participated in the convoy and offered medicaments for free to the examined cases. Faculty of Nursing delivered lectures on nutrition, first aid, and self-examination for breast cancer. In addition, Faculty of Agriculture gave 50 olive trees to be planted along the road in the context of the presidential initiative “100 Million Trees”.

   Furthermore, Prof. Mohammad Al-Shebiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that 995 patients were examined at the convoy in 12 different medical specialties and that 77 cases were transferred to University Hospitals.

   It is worth noting that 54 citizens had literacy exams at the convoy that was held with participation of Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Acting Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; Mr. Mohammad Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
