According to the Report Issued by the General Authority for Adult Education in the Session of July 2022, Tanta University Tops the Egyptian Universities in Eradicating Illiteracy

Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, “A high priority is given to human development strategy and the literacy project.”

   Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, announced that Tanta University has topped the list of the Egyptian universities in eradicating illiteracy as it managed to eradicate illiteracy of 24367 citizens according to the report issued by the General Authority for Adult Education in the session of July 2022.

   Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki stated that the university places contributing to the human development strategy launched by President El-Sisi on its top priorities. As a result, it is keen on participating effectively in the national project of eradicating illiteracy, pointing out that it comes in line with the fifth pivot of the university’s strategic plan, which stipulates “enhancing the presidential initiative of eradicating illiteracy, community service and developing human resources”. He pointed out that the university is keen on promoting its pioneering role in community service, and achieving the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030 and its pivots including “Quality of life, justice, a powerful economy, peace and security”.

   Furthermore, Tanta University President declared that the university always seeks to achieve the goals of the literacy project to reach illiteracy-free Egypt in accordance with the national sustainable development strategy. He pointed out that being on top of the Egyptian universities in eradicating illiteracy is as a culmination of the efforts exerted by the employees of the project at the university, and the efforts of university students. He thanked to university students who participated in the project as they are the main partners who helped the university to reach this unprecedented achievement.
