Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, announced that the university advanced in QS rankings in 2023 to get the rank61-70 at the Arab level; thus, moving forward by 10 ranks compared to the results of 2022 when the university gained rank 80-71. He indicated that the Arab universities listed in the ranking this year increased to 199 universities compared to 184 ones last year.
University President added that the university came as one of the top 31% of the participant Arab universities. It came tenth locally out of 33 Egyptian universities. He declared that the university gained 16.9% in the indicator of employer reputation, 88.9% in the indicator of international research network, and 49.7% in the indicator of web impact.
Furthermore, University President asserted that this achievement is a result of the university’s strategy and the outcomes of its seventh and tenth pivots regarding improvement of world ranking, enhancement of scientific excellence and international collaboration, and supporting competitiveness to have better academic reputation and more international publications. In addition, University President commended the efforts exerted by academic staff and researchers at Tanta University that helped to raise the stature of the university to the world level.
Moreover, Prof. Kamal Okasha stated that QS Arab Region Ranking is one of the three most significant world rankings of universities; it depends on ten indicators namely academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, international research network, web impact, proportion of staff with a PhD, citations per paper, papers per faculty, proportion of international faculty, and proportion of international students.
