To Enhance Decent Life Initiative, Tanta University’s Convoy in Santa Offers Medical Care Services and Medicaments for Free to 1282 Citizens

     Tanta University organized a comprehensive medical convoy in Mit Haway village located in Santa province in Gharbia governorate to examine patients and to give them medications for free under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President, and Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with the Supreme Medical Aid Committee of the Cabinet as part of the presidential initiative “Decent Life”.

      Prof. Mahmoud Zaki affirmed that the medical convoys organized by the university aim to enhance the presidential initiative “Decent Life”, to offer medical care services to patients, to give them medicaments for free, and to present outreach and social services to citizens in the neediest villages in the governorate.

     Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Salim inspected the clinics of the convoy where he examined many patients. He was accompanied by officials of Decent Life Foundation. He pointed out that the comprehensive medical convoys are held in the context of the university’s social responsibility that includes presenting health and social services to support the neediest families. He added that Faculty of Medicine participated in the convoy with examining patients in cooperation with Faculty of Nursing that gave lectures about nutrition, first aid, and self-examination for breast cancer. Faculty of Pharmacy participated in the convoy and offered medicaments for free to the examined cases. In addition, Faculty of Agriculture offered 50 olive trees to be planted in the village in the context of the presidential initiative “100 Million Trees”.

  Furthermore, Prof. Mohammad Al-Shebiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that 1282 patients were examined at the convoy in 13 different clinics and that 66 cases were transferred to University Hospitals.

   It is worth noting that 30 citizens had literacy exams at the convoy that was held in attendance of Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Acting Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; Mr. Mohammad Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
