In Enhancement of Decent Life Initiative, Tanta University’s Convoy Offers Medical Care Services to 1298 Citizens in Kafr El-Zayyat Province

Tanta University organized a comprehensive medical convoy in Meshla village located in Kafr El-Zayyat province in Gharbia governorate to examine patients and to give them medications for free under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President, and Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with the Supreme Medical Aid Committee of the Cabinet as part of the presidential initiative “Decent Life”.

     Prof. Mahmoud Zaki declared that comprehensive medical convoys are organized by the university to enhance the presidential initiative “Decent Life” that plays a great role in meeting sustainable development goals as it supports citizens in the neediest villages and offers them decent life in health, social and economic aspects.

   Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Salim affirmed that the medical convoys present health care services to citizens in villages and hamlets where patients are examined, required analyses and x-ray images are conducted, and medicaments are given for free.

    He added that Faculty of Pharmacy participated in the convoy and offered medicaments for free to the examined cases. Faculty of Nursing gave lectures about nutrition, first aid, and self-examination for breast cancer. In addition, Faculty of Agriculture helped to plant 50 olive trees along the road in the context of the presidential initiative “100 Million Trees” in cooperation with the Governorate, City Council, and the Local Governing Unit.

   Furthermore, Prof. Mohammad Al-Shebiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that 1298 patients were examined at the convoy in 13 different clinics, and that 63 cases were transferred to University Hospitals to continue their treatment.

   It is worth noting that 25 citizens had literacy exams at the convoy that was held in attendance of Prof. Mohammad Al-Shebiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Acting Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; Mr. Mohammad Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
