Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, declared that Tanta University’s model of adult literacy was reviewed as a typical one during the meeting held by the executive body of the General Authority for Adult Education under chairmanship of Prof. Al-Helaly Al-Sherbiny, former Minister of Education, at the headquarters of the Supreme Council of Universities (SCU). It is worth noting that Tanta University topped the list of governmental universities in adult literacy in July 2022. The committee thanked Tanta University for honoring the outstanding students in the round of July 2022 in attendance of Prof. Mohamed Nassef, Head of the Executive Body of the General Authority for Adult Education, and committee members.
Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, affirmed that Tanta University is always keen on enhancing the national project of literacy and adult education. Prof. Zaki stated that he is proud that the university gained advanced ranks in literacy that is the fifth pivot of the university’s strategy, “Enhancing the presidential initiative of literacy…community service and development of human abilities”.
Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, indicated that the university plays a pioneering role in community and exerts great efforts in eliminating illiteracy to get illiteracy-free Gharbia. He pointed out that the university could top the list of governmental universities in literacy in the round of July 2022 based on the report issued by the General Authority for Adult Education as Tanta University could education 24367 illiterate persons.
