In Enhancement of “Decent Life” Initiative, Tanta University’s Convoy in Santa Province Offers Medical Care Services to 1267 Patients

Tanta University organized a comprehensive medical convoy today in Tokh Mazid village located in Santa province in Gharbia governorate to offer medical care services to patients and to give them medications for free under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President, and Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with the Supreme Medical Aid Committee of the Cabinet in enhancement of the presidential initiative “Decent Life”.

   Prof. Mahmoud Zaki asserted that the comprehensive medical convoys help effectively to present health care services in a wider range of areas including the neediest villages. He declared that the convoys include an elite group of doctors from Tanta University in all medical specialties to offer quality services to patients and to give them medicaments for free based on the university’s social role in the context of Egypt’s vision 2030.

   Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Salim inspected the clinics of the convoy where he examined many patients. He was accompanied by representatives of Decent Life initiative. He pointed out that Faculty of Medicine participated in the convoy and examined patients in cooperation with Faculty of Nursing that gave lectures about nutrition and first aid. Faculty of Pharmacy also participated in the convoy and gave medicaments for free to the examined cases. Faculty of Agriculture offered 50 fruitful olive trees to be planted in the village in the framework of the presidential initiative “100 Million Trees”.

   Furthermore, Prof. Mohammad Al-Shebiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that 1267 patients were examined at the convoy in 12 different clinics and that 59 cases were transferred to University Hospitals.

    It is worth noting that 15 citizens took literacy exams at the convoy in attendance of Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Acting Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; Mr. Mohammad Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
