In Enhancement of “Decent Life” Initiative, Tanta University’s Convoy in El-Mahalla Province Offers Health Care Services to 1286 Patients

Tanta University organized a comprehensive medical convoy today in Damro village in El-Mahalla El-Kobra province located in Gharbia governorate to offer medical care services to patients and to give them medicaments for free under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President, and Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with the Supreme Medical Aid Committee of the Cabinet in the context of the presidential initiative “Decent Life”.

     At the convoy, 1286 patients were examined in 15 different clinics as follows: 68 patients in neurosurgery clinic, 134 in pediatrics, 163 in orthopedic surgery, 123 in dermatology, 128 in internal medicine, 78 in urology, 136 in ENT, 36 in general surgery, in 65 in chest, 34 in neuropsychiatry, 218 in ophthalmology, 26 in cardiovascular surgery, 17 in gynecology, 26 analyses, and 25 cases in dentistry clinic. In addition, 92 patients were transferred to University Hospitals; 14 patients were transferred to neurosurgery clinic, 2 to pediatric clinic, 4 to dermatology, 3 to internal medicine, 8 to urology, 4 to ENT, 5 to general surgery, 5 to chest, 4 to neuropsychiatry, 24 to ophthalmology, and 4 cases to cardiovascular surgery clinic. Moreover, 65 citizens took literacy exams at the convoy.

     It is worth noting that the convoy was held with participation of Prof. Mohammad Al-Shebiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Acting Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Randa Al-Deep, Manager of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women; Mr. Mohammad Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
