Prof. Ashor Amry, “Tanta University offers unprecedented support to eradicate illiteracy”
Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, and Prof. Ashor Amry, Head of the National Authority for Adult Education, signed a cooperation protocol to eradicate illiteracy in Gharbia governorate in attendance of Prof. Emad Etman, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Mr. Mohammed Abo Al-Nabayel, General Manager of the National Authority for Adult Education; and Prof. Howeida El-Etriby, Member of the Board of Adult Education Unit at Tanta University and Head of Department of Educational Foundations.
Tanta University President affirmed that the University is keen on enhancing the national strategy of eradicating illiteracy which is considered one of its top priorities. He indicated that the University is going to implement the protocol with the help of its human cadres including academic staff and students under supervision of specialized University professors who are going to take part in the project.
Moreover, Prof. Emad Etman highlighted the significant role played by the University in dealing with community issues and facing developmental challenges such as illiteracy. He asserted that students participate in eliminating illiteracy through Adult Education Unit at the University.
Tanta University Vice President confirmed the great role played by the University in handling national issues such as illiteracy in coordination with the branch of the General Authority for Adult Education in Gharbia and the competent bodies in the framework of the state strategy and Egypt’s vision 2030 of sustainable development.
For his part, Prof. Ashor Amry, Head of the National Authority for Adult Education, indicated that there is close cooperation among all governmental organization, NGOs and civil associations to eradicate illiteracy which is one of the most important strategic goals the Egyptian state is seeking to achieve.
Head of the National Authority for Adult Education stated that Tanta University, under presidency of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, gives unprecedented support to eradication of illiteracy. He also commended the strenuous efforts exerted in this regard by the sector of community service under leadership of Prof. Emad Etman.
It is worth mentioning that signing the protocol was attended by the delegation of the Authority in Cairo that included Mr. Ehab Said, Mr. Al-Sayed Mosad, Mr. Hesham Fahim and Mr. Ahmed Abdel Mawgod. It was attended also by Mr. Ahmed Abdel Ghany, Ms. Eman Raafat Badr and Mr. Ibrahim Al-Ashry from the branch of the Authority in Gharbia. At the end of the visit, both parties exchanged shields and memorial photos were taken.
