In Enhancement of “Decent Life” Initiative, Tanta University’s Convoy in Samannoud Province Offers Medical Care Services to 1679 Patients

Tanta University organized a comprehensive medical convoy today in Benabosir village in Samannoud province located in Gharbia governorate to offer medical care services to patients and to give them medicaments for free under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President, and Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with the Supreme Medical Aid Committee of the Cabinet in enhancement of the presidential initiative “Decent Life”. The convoy was attended by Prof. Mohamed Shaaban, Coordinator of the Supreme Medical Committee of the Cabinet.

   At the convoy, 1679 patients were examined in 15 different clinics as follows: 119 patients in neurosurgery clinic, 125 in pediatrics, 210 in orthopedic surgery, 115 in dermatology, 134 in internal medicine, 63 in urology, 132 in ENT, 87 in general surgery, in 81 in chest, 27 in neuropsychiatry, 240 in ophthalmology, 31 in cardiovascular surgery, 10 in gynecology, 25 analyses, and 100 cases in dentistry clinic.

    He added that 74 patients were transferred to University Hospitals; 4 patients were transferred to neurosurgery clinic, 3 to pediatric clinic, 14 to orthopedic surgery, 6 to dermatology, 4 to internal medicine, 8 to urology, 8 to ENT, 13 to general surgery, 6 to chest, 4 to neuropsychiatry, and 4 cases to cardiovascular surgery clinic. Moreover, 90 citizens took literacy exams at the convoy.

   It is worth noting that the convoy was held with participation of Prof. Mohamed Al-Shebiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Acting Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Randa Al-Deep, Manager of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women; Mr. Mohammad Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
