In Enhancement of Decent Life Initiative, Tanta University’s Convoy in Basyoun Offers Medical Care Services to 1470 Patients

Tanta University organized a comprehensive medical convoy today in Genah village in Basyoun province located in Gharbia governorate to offer medical care services to patients and to give them medicaments for free under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President, and Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with the Supreme Medical Aid Committee of the Cabinet to enhance the presidential initiative “Decent Life” and Sonaa El-Kheir Foundation.

   At the convoy, 1470 patients were examined in 15 different clinics as follows: 114 patients in neurosurgery clinic, 134 in pediatrics, 167 in orthopedic surgery, 111 in dermatology, 124 in internal medicine, 151 in urology, 131 in ENT, 48 in general surgery, 74 in chest, 51 in neuropsychiatry, 198 in ophthalmology, 50 in cardiovascular surgery, 20 in family planning and gynecology, 45 analyses and 52 cases in dentistry clinic.

    In addition, 89 patients were transferred to University Hospitals as follows: 6 patients were transferred to neurosurgery clinic, 2 to pediatric clinic, 13 to orthopedic surgery, 2 to dermatology, 2 internal medicine, 6 to urology, 14 to ENT, 4 to general surgery, 6 to chest, 4 to neuropsychiatry, 24 to ophthalmology, and 6 cases to cardiovascular surgery clinic. Moreover, 70 citizens took literacy exams at the convoy, and 50 fruitful trees were planted in the context of the presidential initiative “100 million trees”.

     It is worth noting that the convoy was held with participation of Prof. Mohamed Al-Shibiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Acting Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; Mr. Mohamed Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
