In Enhancement of Decent Life Initiative, Tanta University’s Convoy in Samannoud Province Offers Medical Care Services to 1231 Patients

Tanta University organized a comprehensive medical convoy today in Al-Rahebin village in Samannoud province located in Gharbia governorate to examine to patients and to give them medicaments for free under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President, and Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with Decent Life Foundation.

   At the convoy, 1231 patients were examined in 12 different clinics as follows: 79 patients in neurosurgery clinic, 129 in pediatrics, 189 in orthopedic surgery, 127 in dermatology, 147 in internal medicine, 66 in urology, 142 in ENT, 32 in general surgery, 68 in chest, 33 in neuropsychiatry, 178 in ophthalmology, and 41 in cardiovascular surgery.

   In addition, 110 patients were transferred to University Hospitals as follows: 9 patients were transferred to neurosurgery clinic, 22 to pediatric clinic, 6 to orthopedic surgery, 4 to dermatology, 3 internal medicine, 4 to urology, 16 to ENT, 8 to general surgery, 8 to chest, 1 to neuropsychiatry, 6 cases to cardiovascular surgery, and 23 to ophthalmology clinic.

    Moreover, 55 citizens took literacy exams at the convoy, and 50 fruitful trees were planted. Furthermore, academic staff of Faculty of Nursing gave lectures to citizens of the village on first aid and chronic diseases.

    It is worth noting that the convoy was held with participation of Prof. Mohamed Al-Shibiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Acting Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Randa Al-Deeb, Manager of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women; Mr. Mohamed Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
