Prof. 'Emad 'Etman, “Start of University Students’ Participation in Literacy and Adult Education Program”

Prof. 'Emad 'Etman, Tanta University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, held a meeting today with the Committee of Literacy and Adult Education Coordination at the University that includes faculties of Education, Specific Education, Arts, Commerce and Law in the framework of the fact that Tanta University participates in implementation of the national drawn up by the state to eliminate illiteracy.

Prof. 'Emad 'Etman confirmed that the University had many constituents that helped it to play a pivotal role in the success of literacy activities. He gave directions regarding the necessity of providing all human and financial capabilities and technical equipment required for activating University students'

participation in the literacy program. He called for determining a timetable for disseminating awareness among University students about their important role in literacy and adult education.

Moreover, he highlighted the significance of cooperation among all organizations and institutions for dealing with illiteracy that was prevalent in Egyptian society. He added that Tanta University was considered a main partner in literacy and adult education program based on its commitment to its social responsibility as well as its pioneering role in launching awareness campaigns about the importance of literacy and adult education
