Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, announced that the university made a breakthrough in CWUR ranking in 2023 as it advanced by 54 ranks compared to last year; it gained rank No. 1328 at the international level out of 2000 world universities. In addition, Tanta University occupied the eight rank locally compared to the tenth one last year out of 20 Egyptian universities participating in this ranking.

    Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, affirmed that the university always seeks to improve its results in world rankings through many procedures such as development of scientific research, encouragement of international publications, increasing the bonuses given for international publishing, and giving great interest to applied research in social development that enhances Egypt’s sustainable development vision 2030.

    Prof. Kamal Okasha, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, declared that CWUR depends on four indicators to compare international higher education institutions namely: Education quality (25%), Employability (25%), Faculty who won academic distinctions (10%), and Research (40%).

    In addition, Prof. Hagar Saad Al-Din, Manager of International Ranking Unit at Tanta University, pointed out that the university gained rank No. 1275 in research at the world level with a percentage of 68.7% proving the support offered by University Administration to academic staff members and researchers.
