Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, announced that Tanta University made a new breakthrough in world rankings as it achieved significant progress in GreenMetric Ranking. It gained rank No. 465 out of 1183 world universities participating in the ranking. He indicated that this progress proves commitment of the university to standards of sustainability and caring about the environment.

   Furthermore, University President added that Tanta University advanced locally as it was ranked the tenth out of 26 ranked Egyptian universities in 2023. It is worth noting that the Egyptian universities in this ranking increased by 9 universities compared to the last year.

   Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Selim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, declared that the university abides by standards of sustainability at campus in implementation of the university’s strategy. Universities were ranked based on many indicators such as infrastructure, efficient use of energy, decreased emission of greenhouse gases, integrated management of waste, conservation of water, transportation that reduces carbon footprint, and the role of education in sustainable development.
