Tanta University Organizes the Cultural Camp Leaders in Volunteerism (LIV) for Superior Students

Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, announced that today Social Solidarity Unit at the university organized a cultural camp under the title Leaders in Volunteerism (LIV) at Faculty of Commerce for superior students of the university in the framework of the cooperation between Ministry of Social Solidarity and Tanta University based on Egypt’s vision 2030 and the instructions given by President\ Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi as for human development and securing decent life for citizens.

    Moreover, Prof. Kamal Okasha, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, highlighted the significant role played by Social Solidarity Unit at Tanta University in supporting needy students and students with special needs as well as superior students at scientific faculties whether in undergraduate or postgraduate stages.

    Furthermore, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research pointed out that a cooperation protocol had been signed with Minister of Social Solidarity. He indicated that Tanta University is one of 12 universities in the republic that have excellent students’ incubators. He thanked University President, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki; Prof. Nivine El-Kabbag, Minister of Social Solidarity; Prof. Hany Al-Shamy, Dean of Faculty of Commerce; Prof. Fotoh Rashed, Coordinator of the Initiative of Supporting the Academically Superior at Tanta University; and Mr. Ahmed Hibah, Coordinator of Ministry of Social Solidarity at the University.

     In his speech, Prof. Hany Al-Shamy, Dean of Faculty of Commerce commended the great support given by Postgraduate Studies Sector under chairmanship of Prof. Kamal Okasha. He asserted that the cooperation between Ministry of Social Solidarity and universities aims to help needy students and to enhance educational and cultural activities.

    In addition, Ms. Amany Al-Nadery, Undersecretary of Ministry of Social Solidarity in Gharbia, reviewed the services offered by the ministry such as Solidarity and Dignity Program that serves the neediest families, establishment of new classes for literacy, Forsa Program ̶ meaning opportunity ̶ that helps with getting a job or a loan for small-scale projects, organizing more than 24 convoys in Zefta province, training teams to disseminate awareness among women in rural areas, providing more incubators for neonates, protecting homeless children, Mawada Program ̶ meaning affection ̶ that gives necessary information to those who are going to marry, and supporting PSN through offering them services that help them overcome difficulties.
