Prof. Emad Etman, Tanta University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, held a meeting today evening with the delegation of University Student Union that included SU President\ Ahmed Khaled Hegazy and SU Deputy President\ Israa Roshdy in attendance of general secretaries of the Union at faculties of Education, Art, Specific Education, Physical Education, Law, Agriculture, and Commerce.
University Vice President pointed out that the meeting was held in implementation of the instructions given by University President, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, as for the necessity of communication with students and knowing about their problems related to applying “Literacy Project” as a prerequisite for graduation. Moreover, mechanisms and solutions to facilitate carrying out the project were discussed in addition to incentives that can be offered and obstacles that have to be removed in this regard.
Furthermore, Prof. Emad Etman gave directions to SU delegation as for forming student teams to disseminate awareness about literacy program and taking part in it. He highlighted the social responsibility Tanta University assumes in participation in the national project of literacy. He stated that Tanta University is keen on offering all incentives, facilitation and services that students need to take part in this project.
Ahmed Khaled Hegazy, SU President, declared that SU delegation offered suggestions that can overcome the problems facing students in Literacy Project such as the difficulty of finding illiterate persons who want to learn. These suggestions included collaboration with NGOs to find illiterate persons and forming teams to organize databases of them.
SU President asserted that Prof. Emad Etman welcomed all suggestions that are being considered to be announced soon.
