Leukemia Unit was inaugurated today at Tanta University Oncology Hospital on the sidelines of scientific symposium “Bone Marrow Cancer” held at Faculty of Medicine under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President; Prof. Kamal Okasha, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Prof. Ahmed Ghoneim, Dean of Faculty of Medicine.
Prof. Ahmed Ghoneim, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, inaugurated the symposium “Bone Marrow Cancer” in attendance of Prof. Kamal Okasha, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Ashraf Al-Ghandor, Professor of Hematology at Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University and Vice President for Postgraduate Studies; Prof. Mohammed Hantira, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Hesham Tawfik, Professor and Head of Oncology Department; and Prof. Omnia Abdel Fattah, Professor of Cancer at Faculty of Medicine.
Furthermore, Prof. Kamal Okasha, Tanta University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, affirmed that Faculty of Medicine is keen on offering continuous medical education to doctors so that they can present quality health care services coinciding with Egypt’s vision 2030.
Moreover, Prof. Ahmed Ghoneim, Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of University Hospitals’ Board, declared that Leukemia Unit has been inaugurated in the framework of the efforts exerted to improve the health care and the medical sector, coinciding with the golden jubilee of Tanta University.
In addition, Prof. Hesham Tawfik, Chairman of the Symposium and Manager of Tanta University Cancer Hospital; pointed out that the symposium “Bone Marrow Cancer” includes two scientific sessions where 4 lectures are given as well as discussing some cases, in the context of a continuous training program that consists of 4 symposiums.
