Tanta University Basketball Team of Female Students Advances to Semifinals in Universities’ Tournament

Tanta University basketball team of female students advanced to the semifinals in Egyptian Universities’ Tournament (Martyr Al-Rifai) after beating the team of Benha University 31-29 and the team of Sohag University 58-28.

   Prof. Mahmoud Zaki congratulated the team and wished them winning in the finals. He affirmed that the university is supporting all sports activities and that it chooses the best students to be prepared for local and international sports championships.

   Prof. Mohamed Hussein, university Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, pointed out that this 49th tournament is held at Benha University under patronage of Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Chairman of the Egyptian Universities’ Sports Federation, and Prof. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports; with participation of a great number of students from Egyptian universities and institutes in cooperation with Egyptian Universities’ Sports Federation, and governmental and private universities.

    He added that university team is supervised by Dr. Magdy Wakwak, General Coordinator of Student Activities. It includes 12 female students under supervision of Mr. Mohammed Al-Kasir, General Manager of Youth Welfare General Administration; Dr. Mohammed Gad, Coach; and Ms. Amira Abdel Ghany, Supervisor at Youth Welfare General Administration.
