Celebrating Tanta University’s Golden Jubilee, 1324 Citizens Get Treatment for Free at a Medical Convoy in Zefta

Tanta University organized a medical convoy in Mit Al-Haroon village located in Zefta in Gharbia governorate to examine needy patients to give them medicaments for free, and to transfer serious cases to University Hospitals to continue their treatment in cooperation with the Supreme Medical Committee of the Cabinet.

   Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, affirmed that in the context of celebrating the university’s golden jubilee, an integrated plan was drawn up to enhance the medical sector inside and outside Gharbia governorate through the medical convoys aiming to enhance the presidential initiative Decent Life and to serve the neediest villages in cooperation with Medical Aid Committee of the Cabinet.

    Furthermore, Prof. Hamdy Shaaban, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, declared that 1324 citizens were examined and were given medicaments for free during the convoy. In addition, 82 patients were transferred to University Hospitals to continue their treatment in specialties of orthopedic surgery, ENT, general surgery, chest, internal medicine, pediatrics, and ophthalmology.

   Prof. Al-Shebiny added that the convoy was held with participation of Faculty of Specific Education and Faculty of Physical Education. Moreover, a veterinary convoy and a literacy convoy were organized. They were attended by Prof. Mohammed Al-Sayed, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture; Prof. Nehal Atef, Vice Dean of Faculty of Science for Community Service and Environmental Development; Mr. Mohammed Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
