Tanta University organized today a medical convoy in Kafr El-Hamam village located in Basyoun district in Gharbia governorate to examine patients, to give them medicaments for free, and to transfer serious patients to University Hospitals to complete their treatment in cooperation with the Supreme Medical Aid Committee at the Cabinet.
Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, affirmed that a plan was drawn up to enhance the medical sector in Gharbia governorate and outside it through the medical convoys sent by the university, to support the presidential initiative “Decent Life”, and to increase the number of medical convoys coinciding with the university’s golden jubilee.
Moreover, Prof. Hamdy Shaaban, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, declared that 1637 patients in the village were examined and were given medicaments for free.
Furthermore, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shebiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, indicated that 82 cases were transferred to University Hospitals to complete their treatment in specialties of orthopedic surgery, ENT, general surgery, chest, internal medicine, pediatrics, ophthalmology, and urology.
It is worth noting that the convoy was held with participation of Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development; Mr. Mohammed Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
