Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, “Tanta University is the 7th Locally and the 17th in Africa in the Dutch Leiden Ranking”

Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, announced that the university has made a huge breakthrough in the Dutch CWTS Leiden Ranking 2022; the university advanced by 58 ranks compared to last year results as it gained rank No. 952 internationally out of 30 thousand world universities. In addition, the university came 7th locally out of 10 Egyptian universities participating in this ranking and was the 17th at the African level, according to the results announced in current June for the period from 2017 to 2020.

    Furthermore, Prof. Zaki added that the university’s strategy aims to enhance its international stature through scientific research and to cope with global advancements. He pointed out that a high priority is given to applied research that serves community and to supporting researchers via encouraging international publishing in journals with high impact factor.

     In addition, Prof. Kamal Okasha, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, stated that the Dutch Leiden Ranking depends on international publications in Clarivate, quality of these publications, and institutional and international cooperation for producing them.
