Tanta Faculty of Computer Receives Children Participating in “A Child’s University”

Faculty of Computer and Information at Tanta University held events of the second day of “A Child’s University” program organized by the university in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Sakr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology; Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President; and Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; in attendance of Prof. Nancy Al-Hefnawy, Faculty Dean; Prof. Abdullah Khedr, General Coordinator of a Child’s University; and Prof. Ayda Nassr, Coordinator of a Child’s University at the Faculty.

   Prof. Mahmoud Salim declared that “A Child’s University” is a national project that is given a high priority by Tanta University to support the talented and the innovative; it has a great role in development of children’s critical thinking, culture and talents.

   Furthermore, Prof. Nancy Al-Hefnawy indicated that the children visited many important projects at the university such as the project of a robot that simulates a nurse or a receptionist at a hospital, some voice-activated cars, a blind’s stick with a sensor, and the project of measuring water in soil to use water rationally.

   Moreover, Prof. Abdullah Khedr thanked Prof. Mahmoud Zaki for his support to “A Child’s University” at all faculties of the university through providing all needed capabilities and cadres.
