Examining 1277 Patients at Tanta University’s Medical Convoy in Samannoud District and Giving them Medicaments for Free

Immediate literacy exam for 50 citizens in cooperation with the General Authority of Adult Education

   Tanta University organized a comprehensive medical convoy in Mit Hashem villages located in Samannoud district to examine patients and to give them medicaments for free enhancing the presidential initiative Decent Life in the context of celebrating the university’s golden jubilee. The convoy was organized in cooperation with Decent Life Foundation and Medical Aid Committee of the Cabinet.

     Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, affirmed that a high priority is given to holding medical convoys in the neediest villages to support the medical system in Gharbia governorate. He pointed out that the convoys have all capabilities, and that academic staff members from Faculty of Medicine take part in the convoys to offer quality health care services to patients.

    Furthermore, Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, declared that serious cases were transferred to University Hospitals to get the needed treatment for free. He added that literacy exam was held in cooperation with the General Authority of Literacy and Adult Education in addition to a veterinary convoy held in cooperation with Veterinary Medicine Directorate.

     Moreover, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shebiny, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, added that 1277 patients in the village were examined and were given medicaments for free. He stated that 61 patients were transferred to University Hospitals.

    The convoy was organized with participation of faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Nursing, in addition to holding immediate literacy exam for 50 citizens in the framework of the national strategy for eliminating illiteracy.

     It is worth noting that the convoy was held with participation of academic staff members from many faculties of the university, Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development; Mr. Mohammed Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
