Examining 1247 Patients, Giving them Medicaments for Free, and Holding a Literacy Exam for 90 Citizens at Tanta University’s Medical Convoy in Al-Santa District at Tanta University’s Medical Convoy

Tanta University President, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, announced that a comprehensive medical convoy was held today in Al-Monshaa Al-Kobra village located in Al-Santa district to examine patients and to give them medicaments for free in cooperation with the Supreme Medical Aid Committee of the Cabinet in the context of celebrating the university’s golden jubilee.

   Prof. Mahmoud Zaki affirmed that the university is keen on enhancing the presidential initiative Decent Life through offering quality health care services to patients in the neediest villages and offering medicaments for free at the comprehensive medical convoys that enhance health care system in Gharbia governorate.

   Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, seeks to offer services that ensure decent life for needy families and help to achieve Egypt’s sustainable development vision 2030. In addition, the convoys offer literacy services in cooperation with the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education as well as veterinary care in cooperation with Veterinary Medicine Directorate.

   Furthermore, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shebiny, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, added that 1247 patients in the village were examined and were given medicaments for free. He stated that 51 patients were transferred to University Hospitals to complete their treatment. Also, immediate literacy exam was held for 90 citizens.

      The convoy was organized with participation of faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Agriculture in attendance of medical cadres of various specialties, Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development; Mr. Mohammed Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
