Enhancing “Decent Life”, Tanta University’s Medical Convoy Offers Health Care to 1454 Patients in Bishbish Village in El-Mahalla El-Kobra

A medical convoy was organized by Tanta University in Bishbish village located in El-Mahalla El-Kobra district in Gharbia governorate to examine patients and to give them medicaments for free in cooperation with Medical Aid Committee of the Cabinet enhancing the presidential initiative Decent Life in the context of celebrating the university’s golden jubilee.

     Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, affirmed that a high priority is given to supporting the presidential initiative Decent Life and to enhancement of the university’s role in community service with the help of the outstanding medical cadres in various specialties to quality health care services to patients and to give them medicaments for free, in addition to transferring serious cases to University Hospitals. He indicated that the university is keen on participation in all presidential initiatives.

   Furthermore, Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, added that Community Service Sector suggests and identifies the areas that need medical convoys and determines the required medical specializations in different districts of the governorate in cooperation with executive bodies in the governorate.

     Moreover, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shebiny, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that 1454 patients in the village were examined and were given medicaments for free at the convoy. He highlighted the fact that 64 patients were transferred to University Hospitals to get their treatment.

     The convoy was organized with participation of faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Nursing, in addition to holding immediate literacy exam for 60 citizens in the framework of the national strategy for eliminating illiteracy.

     It is worth noting that the convoy was held with participation of many academic staff members from different faculties of the university, Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development; Mr. Mohammed Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
