Welcome Meeting for Tanta Pharmacy Students Participating in the Student Exchange Training Program at Nizwa University, Sultanate of Oman

On July 24, 2024, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University and Vice President for Educational and Student Affairs, met with the pharmacy students from Tanta University participating in the student exchange training program at Nizwa University in the Sultanate of Oman. This meeting marked the conclusion of the student exchange program.

During the meeting, students Taqa Adel Abuouf and Salma Ahmed Saleh Shalabi, who are in their fourth year of the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Phar.D.) program, were honored for successfully completing their training period from July 2 to July 26, 2024, at Nizwa University.

The training included practical experience at the Jana Medical Center’s pharmacies in Izki and Barka Al-Mawz in Nizwa. Students engaged in pharmaceutical distribution, familiarized themselves with available medications in Oman, and learned about the pharmacy’s computerized systems and pharmaceutical information related to drug materials and toxins.

Additionally, the training involved experience at the Bahla Medical Center, where students learned about drug distribution in medical centers, the handling of active substances, differences between medical center and external pharmacy practices, and prescription management.
