According to Times Higher Education (THE) Ranking 2025, Tanta University Advances by 3 Ranks in the Local Ranking, Now Eighth

Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, announced the university could maintain its rank, 1001-1200, in 2025 among 2,092 universities ranked globally by Times Higher Education (THE) in 2025. The university managed to meet the criteria for this ranking among 2,857 participating universities. Locally, Tanta University was ranked in the fourth category, achieving 8th rank among 35 Egyptian universities; thus, advancing by 3 ranks compared to the previous year.

      Prof. Mohamed Hussein congratulated all university personnel on this achievement, indicating that it was the result of a collective effort from all teams, who work according to specific mechanisms that aim to improve the university’s international ranking. Moreover, he also declared that the university's strategic plan targets enhancing its position in international rankings, in line with the state's sustainable development plan and Egypt’s Vision 2030. He further explained that despite restructuring the criteria of Times Higher Education (THE) ranking this year, Tanta University succeeded in keeping its international rank and advanced by 3 places locally.

     It is worth mentioning that Times Higher Education (THE) ranking is one of the most important global rankings for assessing universities, providing reliable data on university performance based on five key indicators: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry collaboration, and international outlook.
