Tanta University President Inspects Emergency University Hospital and Checks on the Condition of Tanta Circus Injury Victim

Tanta University President, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, conducted an inspection tour today at the Emergency University Hospital,

accompanied by Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, to check on the condition of

Mohamed Ibrahim Abdel Fattah, assistant circus trainer who was attacked by a tiger during a performance in Tanta. The visit was also attended by

Prof. Mohamed Hantira, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Hassan El-Tatawy, General Supervisor of University Hospitals,

Prof. Mohamed El-Shebiney, General Supervisor of the Emergency Hospital, Prof. Mohamed Abou Farha, Director of the Comprehensive Clinic, and Prof. Mohamed Sarhan,

Deputy Director of the Main Hospital and the New Surgery Hospital.

During his visit, Prof. Mohamed Hussein checked on the patient’s condition and met with the medical team overseeing the case. He emphasized the university’s commitment

to providing all necessary support and care to ensure the patient’s full recovery as swiftly as possible, expressing his solidarity with the patient and his family.

He also stressed the importance of delivering a comprehensive and high-quality therapeutic environment through coordination among the university hospitals, based on

established medical protocols.

Prof. Hussein also took the opportunity to speak with other patients and visitors at the hospital, checking on their conditions and listening to their feedback

regarding the quality of healthcare services, as well as their suggestions and needs, with the aim of continuous improvement. He expressed appreciation for the concern

shown by the executive leadership in Gharbia Governorate, particularly Governor Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, for their continuous communication with the university

and their efforts in offering both psychological and material support to the patient.

The university president noted that the patient had been transferred from the Emergency Hospital to the New Surgery Hospital after his condition stabilized,

and after receiving initial wound dressings following surgery, in accordance with university hospital medical protocols. These protocols require the transfer of patients

from emergency departments to inpatient wards once their condition is stable, as directed by the medical team and the infection control unit. He also instructed the

provision of comprehensive psychological support for the patient by specialized psychiatrists at Tanta University Hospitals.

Tanta University President also held a meeting during his tour with hospital directors to follow up on operations in the university hospitals. During the meeting,

which was attended by the Vice President for Community Service, he emphasized the university's commitment to transparency and patients’ rights to express themselves,

and expressed full appreciation for the crucial role of journalists and media institutions in spreading accurate information, clarifying perspectives, and providing

citizens with platforms to raise public concerns, ultimately contributing to building an informed and resilient society capable of addressing challenges and ongoing developments.

For his part, the patient and his family extended their heartfelt thanks to the university president and his accompanying delegation for visiting him and checking on his health,

noting that the visit greatly boosted his morale. He expressed gratitude for the personal attention and continuous follow-up provided by the university leadership,

which reflects the deep care and comprehensive support the university offers to all patients.
